Composer and the Wonderful new Model of Sharing Libraries

Speakers:

Composer is PHP's de facto package manager. But its much much more. Its adoption is changing the way that we build open source software. Instead of building a module that *only* works with Drupal or a bundle that *only* works with Symfony, why not make a library that can be shared by both?

In this talk, we'll get a quick introduction into using Composer to easily bring open source libraries into your project right now, whether it's Drupal 8, Drupal 7 or anything else. We'll then look at how great Drupal modules could be re-organized and shared with the rest of the world.

Imagine if a really great algorithm you wrote for a Drupal module could be used by any PHP developer. That's the PHP world I want to live in, and in this talk, we'll see how it's already possible.
