The blocks & layouts initiative did not fully implement the scope of the defined initiation. How do we move forward and finish the job we set out to do? This session will discuss the various difficulties involved in moving to the desired scope of the initiative, the known pain points and possible ways forward.

How do we move forward?
Can we do this without breaking BC and get it done in an 8.x major point release?
Outstanding issues we still don't have good answers to.

Is there a focused "sales pitch" that can be made here? Like, "here's what we need to do now so that we CAN continue in contrib"? "Open chat" CCs tend not to be as effective as "here's a proposal, here's the case for it, let's do!"
