Howard became involved in open source web development in 2005 when introduced to Drupal 4.7. He is the Vice President of Engineering at Zivtech, a Philadelphia based open source consulting company.

Recently, Howard has been focusing on streamlining development processes and bringing devops culture and tools used in other open source communities into the Drupal ecosystem. He spends his days architecting custom systems for clients and creating and contributing to open source projects.
