Profile
I am a Software Engineer with an MS equivalent degree ("Laurea") from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. I have over 20 years of experience in the IT field. My background and extensive experience as a system administrator and a programmer helps me to play a critical bridging role, spanning the gap between technology and users, and in particular data management and researchers.
I started playing with a Commodore 16 a long time ago; however, since that time I have grown significantly to become an expert in the field with vast understanding of Open Source software, Linux operating systems, Web technologies, and Drupal CMS. My expertise does not stop there – I have considerable knowledge about sophisticated computing infrastructure, automation and large storage systems targeted for research environments (specifically neurophysiology, fMRI, MEG, and EEG research laboratories).
I currently works for RNEL (Rehab Neural Engineering Lab) at University of Pittsburgh as Software Engineer where my tasks span from data management to software automation, and maintaining the website.
When I am not lost in "computer land", I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with his sons, mountain–biking for hours, practicing and teaching yoga, eating extremely good food, and sipping awesome wines.
