Profile
I have many years experience developing web applications for business use in a K12 environment. I have experience in multiple languages, databases and development tools.
Currently I run an internal Drupal shop for the Kern County Superintendent of Schools in Bakersfield, California. I've built Drupal applications for the business office including a central kitchen ordering system for our remote school sites, a staff-to-grant accounting system, a court-community school student tracking system and more.
We are using continuous integration including Aegir provisioning and many other advanced deployment techniques we have learned from attending Drupal meetups, camps and cons. Currently our focus is deploying Drupal with Angualr.js and restful services in order to ease the transition to Drupal 8 when it arrives.
In 2013 I organized https://groups.drupal.org/bakersfield. We are a small but active group - holding meetups once a month. Realizing a need for a more general topic group in our area prompted me and my fellow organizers to start a second group: http://www.meetup.com/Bakersfield-HTML5.
I have presented at the Main LA Drupal Group and at BadCamp 2013, and will speak about Drupal at the upcoming California Association School Business Officers conference in April of 2014.
When not Drupaling or organizing a meetup, I like to spend time with my family, work out and volunteer for various animal-rescue groups who pull dogs from our local kill shelters. We foster many such dogs on their journey to their forever families.
