When it comes to talent development, it’s time to think outside the drop. With more than one million people registered on Drupal.org, we are still short on experienced developers. One answer is government workforce investment boards, who are hungry for opportunity-rich careers to serve a growing clientele and have the funding to support training them. It’s time we leverage these resources so we are not in same talent-deprived boat five years from now.
In this lab, we’ll share the lessons learned, the importance of selection, comprehensive curriculum, timing and partnerships, and a vision for what could be done in some of the more IT relevant regions where Drupal talent needs are even greater. We’ll cover how regional Drupal communities can leverage their combined job and contractor openings to legitimize the need for subsidized local Drupal talent training.
