Open Source CRM Strategies

Speakers:

First, some facts:

  • Nonprofits make the world a better place and we are passionate about helping them.
  • Open source in general, and Drupal in particular, are heavily used by nonprofits to develop their websites and applications.
  • Nonprofits need membership and contact management tools. These are sometimes called Contact Relationship Management, or CRM, systems.

This leads to a natural outcome, an open source CRM integrated with Drupal.

There are 2 emerging native Drupal CRM solutions, CRM Core and RedHen CRM. CiviCRM, long an open source leader with tight Drupal integration, continues to be a solid “out of the box” alternative. In addition, the newly revamped Salesforce Suite provides the ability for simple bi-directional data synchronization between Drupal and Salesforce opening the door for the best of both worlds: a tightly integrated CMS and CRM plus the power of Salesforce and its ecosystem.

This session will explore the following topics and recommend CRM strategies for different use cases.

  • CRM product vs custom application.
  • Comparing Drupal CRM offerings.
  • Salesforce integration.
  • Removing barriers between your contacts and your content and features.
  • Integrating other tools, such as event registration and transactional email, with your CRM.
