Let's Talk: Bridging the Communications Gap Between Developers & Project Managers to Effectively Communicate with Clients

With the cheeky name, "Let's Talk" this presentation aims to outline the significance of effective communications throughout any project process. Namely, identifying key communications strategies and methodologies to encourage collaborative team environments - that yield superior end communications with client.

Specific learning objectives, include:

  • Internal Communications: Educate PMs to properly collaborate with their Dev counterparts (i.e. communication styles, learning styles, navigating personality types)
  • External Communications: Cleverly encourage Developers to use languages outside of PHP, Java, etc. to communicate (i.e. how to speak "client")

My experience in the subject matter, is illustrated by:

  • Nearly a decade experience in Project Management and Client Relations (inclusive of in-house, traditional agency, interactive agency experience - as well as current PM position at an interactive digital solutions agency, KWALL)
  • Multiple degrees in a related disciple (BA of Communications focused on Advertising and MA of Communications focused on Professional Communications)

Why attendees will benefit from attending:

  • While the presentation has a primary audience of Developers and PMs, it is written in a way that proves useful to Sales Executives and clients alike
  • Exposure to Communications Business Tools (MBTI, EQ, Strength Assessment and other relevant tools)
  • Attendees will benefit from learning how to simplify their communications, consider the end-user/recipient of a communication, as well as an understand how and when to lean on their team-members
