TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, approached us looking to improve upon their existing Wordpress solution for communications with business owners. Following a comprehensive evaluation, we jointly agreed that moving to Drupal would provide us with a more flexible framework to meet current and future needs.
In this session we will share our experience in building a marketing platform that reaches a truly global audience including over 24 different languages and locales.
Specific topics will include:
- Enabling an international team to effectively work together across timezones and organizational boundaries.
- How iteratively releasing features allowed us to launch early and continue to improve quickly.
- The benefits and challenges of Internationalization and Localization in Drupal 7 using Entity Translation, as well as concerns surrounding the integration of translation management tools in Drupal.
- Consistent messaging and customized targeting across the site, in emails and in PDF-material while reducing the workload for content creators.
- Deep analytics site-wide to measure engagement.
Participants will come away with a much enhanced grasp of the challenges and potential Drupal solutions surrounding the task of building a global marketing platform from both a business and technical standpoint.
