DKAN is the Drupal-based open source data platform that allows governments to easily publish and visualize public data.

Open data is increasingly being embraced, or even mandated by governments across the globe. From Oakland, CA to Cologne, Germany, cities of all sizes are currently using DKAN to open 100s of datasets, including those from data.gov, which is enabling a new ecosystem of civic-hackery.

In this session we’ll demonstrate the top features of DKAN, show examples of how it’s currently being deployed at the federal, state and local levels, and share implementation best practices so attendees can spin up their own instance of DKAN to help free public data and transform our governments.
