Digital Strategy is the New SEO

Years ago, you could throw in a few keywords into your content, update your meta description and title tag, and have a good URL and you were pretty much optimized for the search engines. Those days are long gone. With Penguin and Panda, the explosion of social media, and increasing competition, SEO today requires a much more holistic digital and content strategy.

Digital strategy is about aligning marketing, branding, advertising, and web presence with business goals. This is the “new SEO” because you need to get to the top of the search engines by methods beyond just your website. You need great (optimized) content, yes, but you also need to reach out with social media, ads, and marketing campaigns to lure people to your website and to “convert” (whatever that conversion might be).

This session will cover many useful best practices and tools (both third party and within Drupal) to get you started with the search engine optimization of today.

We will discuss:

  • Guidelines for great content
  • Keyword and content analysis
  • Semantic content
  • Overview of Drupal modules
  • Mobile strategy
  • Social media strategy
  • And more...
