Sprint. (n.)

a. run at full speed over a short distance
b. Global provider of voice, data and Internet services
c. a set period of time during which specific work has to be completed and made ready for review
d. techno-bable jargon who's true meaning has been lost behind too many individual methodologies, blog posts and how-to-Agile books.

See what I mean?

The technology can be flawless, and the team is made of aces. The client is on board. The process and tools are solid. All that's left is the communication. It can be easy to forget, we communicate everyday. But clearly it's critical. If we can't even agree what sprint means, what about hard words?

Unformatted code is unusable goop. Unformatted communication is no better. Who's gotten an email or a issue ticket that is masquerading as someone's thesis? There is place for narrative, sure, but 4 bullet points and if we're lucky steps to reproduce the issue would have been far simpler and faster.

These are just small examples of how the everyday things that we take for granted will end up being the biggest stumbling blocks.

It's death by a thousand cuts, a thousand easily preventable cuts. This is a tips and tricks session, full of stories and creative problem solving; what works and what doesn't in communication of all kinds.
