Displaying location and address information on a map in Drupal doesn't have to be complicated. In Drupal 7, the options available to site builders for displaying maps range from simple one-line addresses to extensive settings forms. But what if you want something with more flexibility than Simple Google Maps and less complexity than OpenLayers? Enter Leaflet.
In this session, I will demonstrate how to display a map with a single location and also with multiple points using a lightweight, mobile-friendly Javascript library and Drupal module known as Leaflet.
You will learn:
- How to turn postal addresses into data maps can display
- How to map a single location
- How to use Views to display multiple locations on a map
Leaflet is growing in popularity and with a Drupal 8 dev version in place, in the latter half of the session I will demonstrate how to display a simple map on Drupal 8 using the 8.x dev branch of Leaflet module.
If you are a site builder looking to break out of the Google Maps box and are looking for a future- and mobile-friendly way to display beautiful custom maps on your Drupal 7 and future Drupal 8 sites, then this session could be for you. Come and learn how easy displaying custom maps can be.
