NEWMEDIA is full service digital agency that is actively increasing its focus in the DevOps space. We started the Drupal DevOps Meetup and we’re actively contributing code and solutions to this space. We’re a highly collaborative team that is passionate about constantly improving our processes for ourselves as well as our existing brand-name clients such Six Flags, University of Colorado, Amtrak, Delta Airlines, Colorado School of Mines, Doc Popcorn, Clyfford Still Museum, YMCA, and Massage Envy.

Required Skills and/or Experiences

  • A passion for Test Driven Development TDD and BDD.
  • The ability to debug issues that may not show up in a google search.
  • Attention to detail (did you catch the mistake?).
  • The ability to break down complex problems into manageable and solvable parts.
  • Experience with agile scrum and kanban (bonus points if you can highlight the pros and cons of each from the perspective of various team member roles).
  • Proven experience of building high availability, large-scale Ruby apps.
  • Expert knowledge developing and debugging in Ruby.
  • Solid competency with relational and nosql data stores as well as data caching strategies using various layers.
  • A passion for lifelong learning (both personally and professionally).
  • The ability to share/learn in a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Proficiency with Linux server commands.
  • Good standing in the open source community.
  • A digital signature to prove you have the chops OR a digital signature to prove you have the chops and a 4 year degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in this field.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate with clients to assess business needs, uncover pain points, and identify bottlenecks in order to create solutions that address a variety of business objectives from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist our Development and DevOps team with respect to all questions, best practices, and tooling within the Ruby language and ecosystem.
  • Design, create, and maintain website applications that expose a front end UI to various systems and APIs.
  • Work with developers to create new features and functionality.
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability and stability of systems.
