About the Position:
This role is responsible for leading all sales activities for the company. The Director of Sales will supervise any sales staff and will consistently deliver business value. The Director of Sales serves on the leadership team and contributes to the strategic direction of the organization to ensure profitability and growth.
About You:
The ideal candidate is a sales professional with exceptional presentation and communication skills. Individuals with experience presenting in high-pressure situations possess the presentation skills we’re seeking. We’re looking for someone who has a solid understanding of web development (open source) and can communicate technical requirements to a varied audience from developers to executives. The successful candidate will be a natural teacher and influence. Attention to detail, strong organization, and time management skills are of the utmost importance.
The position with be based in Los Angeles, CA or in our head office in Burnaby, BC with regular travel to our client sites across the US and Canada.
You Need:
-Bachelors Degree in Arts or a related field
-Minimum of 5 years technology sales experience
-Minimum 2 years experience in prospecting and business development
-Minimum of 2 years web development services experience (preference for open source software and CMS solutions)Strong understanding of content management systems (CMS)
-To be ready and willing to travel up to 50% of your time
-Strong understanding of most basic internet technologies
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-Strong understanding of the development of dynamic websites
-Experience in forecasting, costing, budget creation and coordination
-Broad knowledge of the web and current technology & trends
-Learning-oriented; continual self-education through RSS, blogs, meet-ups, podcasts, books, courses and conferences
-Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, prioritization, and the ability to meet deadlines
-Exceptional time management, communication and organizational skills
-Self-starter who takes initiative for self-improvement in areas of weakness
-Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
-Experience with PC, Mac, Google Documents/MS Office, Skype and online collaboration tools
