Director, Online Learning

Acquia Learning Services is a fast growing team within a high growth company that provides live, virtual, and online education programs to Fortune 500 clients and government agencies around the world. The Learning Services team is looking for the right person to formulate, develop, and oversee Acquia’s distance learning strategies.

Summary:
In the Director, Online Learning (MOOC) role you will act as the product manager and program lead, developing new processes and leverage existing systems to launch Acquia’s online curriculum. The ideal candidate for this position has an exceptional track record of planning, managing, and building online educational initiatives for the distance learner.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in assessing students online needs and developing content and courseware for adult learners
Experience charting and managing a product roadmap for an online learning strategy
Experience as an expert in online and blended learning models
Experience working with web authoring tools and web-based CMS/LMS (e.g., Articulate, Blackboard, Drupal, etc.)
Experience using one or more MOOC platforms is required (Udemy, Udacity, EdX, or Coursera)
Work closely with subject matter experts around the organization to coordinate, track, and meet course content development goals
Manage quality assurance, with strong emphasis on copy editing and proofreading.
Provide creative guidance in developing course materials and ensuring usability
Track course and individual surveys, maintain statistics and produce weekly project status summaries
Work with the learning services team in the assessment of overall effectiveness of online course materials produced
Work closely with Marketing and Leadership in developing public-facing communications

Additional Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or similar
Demonstrated experience either implementing a course via a MOOC platform or taking courses via a MOOC
Experience with video production techniques and technologies
Self-motivated and able to excel in a fast-paced technology environment
Capacity to develop new, relevant technology skills as needed
Ability to research various subjects using traditional library techniques and the web
Exemplary interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team, including the ability to work with people from all levels of the organization
