The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for the development, maintenance, and protection of the client relationship and projects spanning the entire services lifecycle, working across multiple clients. The AM is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, plan and oversee the execution of client projects, as well as represent client needs and goals within the company. This is a revenue-accountable role. Qualified individuals will have a technical background as well as a demonstrated track record of success in project management or consulting.
This is not an entry-level position. Experience as an account manager or client-facing project manager is required, ideally in an online technology company or agency.
Essential Job Functions
- Accountable for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue
- Serve as team leader on Client project team (which usually consists of Tech Lead, Project Manager, Developer and/or Themer)
- Review all major deliverables (i.e. build plan, function spec, website functionality, etc.) to ensure quality standards and Client expectations are met
- Ensure project remains on scope, tracks budget weekly, assists with the communication around timeline, budget and invoicing
- Analyze Client enhancements to prepare and present Statements of Work and change orders
- Work closely with the project team to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project
- Ensure that Client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, working with the Project Manager, Support Staff, and/or Senior Leadership
- Work with Clients to discover opportunities for additional needs for which Jackson River can provide solutions
- Understanding of Jackson River’s capabilities and services, and effectively communicate all offerings to the Client
- Perform project retrospectives, assist the marketing team with case studies and other client-related marketing materials
- Oversee metrics of success for clients – review analytics and report to clients on how well tools are working and where they might make improvements, both in strategy and technology
- Represent the company at conferences, and other industry and networking meet-ups
- Travel to client sites when necessary
- Assist with Quality Assurance, Testing, and Launch
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum three (3) years of Account/Project Management experience
- Client-first orientation and mindset, with ability to balance client and company needs
- Thorough understanding of the Internet marketing and website development markets
- Friendly, outgoing, and open-minded
- Understanding of nonprofit fundraising strategy and technology
- Understanding and experience in a website agency or overseeing the build of large-scale online properties or initiatives
- Current in online marketing concepts, including mobile and social
- Proven skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships
